Helium is an amazing creature. Even after spending
the better part of a day in a delivery truck, she came out of the box calm
and immensely curious about everything around her. Despite her fascination
with the environment, as a hatchling, she would spend hours curled up in a warm human hand,
content as can be. (Extra-cool tidbit: She was one of two pairs of twins
in a clutch of seven eggs!)
The Element
Helium is named after the Greek helios,
meaning "sun" because that is where helium was first discovered.
This second-lightest element is also the second most common element
in the universe.
